Could landlocked Zambia, with its enduring energy crisis, become a beacon for solar in Africa? When it comes to clean energy, Zambia is at least making headlines for the right reasons.
His Excellency the President Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu commissioned Zambia’s first utility-scale Solar photovoltaic farm in March 2019.
In April 2019, GET FiT Zambia announced the winning bidders for six solar PV IPP projects totalling 120MW.
To build on this momentum in the clean energy sector, MyZambia MyAfrica has joined forces with Renewables in Africa (RiA) to provide energy investment opportunities to investors in Africa and beyond. MyZambia MyAfrica and RiA are looking for innovative, ready to go Clean Energy projects in Zambia.
MyZambia My Africa has also partnered with Engine for Growth Solutions (Zambia) to provide Clean Energy solutions to the mining and manufacturing sectors in Zambia.
My Zambia is lead by Leya Kawamba, the great grand-daughter of Mwenzi Mwanza, the first known and last female Chief of Mzenje village in Petauke. She is proudly flying the flag for Zambia abroad, specifically in the UK.
