Tours

It is a destination management company ideally suited to those who like to explore, and support local environmentally-friendly projects at the same time. It is a programme that seeks to merge tourism with rural development, and nature conservation, at the best national parks that Zambia has to offer

Amazing Zambia has chosen some of the most diverse destinations for you to visit, with accommodation at two unique safari lodges. Their tailor-made tours present you with an amazing combination of nature, wildlife game and people.

Amazing Zambia's approach to tourism

All the Amazing Zambia tours include visits to development activities, business initiatives and other projects. Rather than cocooning visitors from the surprises, joys and grievances of real African life, Amazing Zambia treat their clients as guests, offering them authentic holiday souvenirs, and memories of real life experiences.

Far too often Africa is depicted as happy children, tribal dance and simple living. But Africa is far more complex, curious and challenging than that. Amazing Zambia gives its guests a chance to challenge conventional ideas about Africa.

Amazing Zambia support a range of development activities, business initiatives and other projects throughout Zambia. All the tours incorporate visits to genuine community projects. All the lodges are run and managed by, or in partnership with Zambians. Amazing Zambia insists on local ownership and management in all their investments and joint ventures. Guests have the opportunity to contribute to development directly through the Amazing Zambia Trust Fund.

  • Kasiya village (Livingstone): A special project to support the poorest people in the community through a unique public-private partnership: the Social Cash Transfer Scheme. On a monthly basis the neediest households get a certain amount of cash to care for their basic needs in health, education and nutrition. Revenue generated from organising village tours is returned to the community for their benefit. You can visit the village, so all our guests mingle with members of the local community to experience their way of life in farming, cooking, dance, music and sports.
  • Kaingu Gem Mines and Jewellery (Puku Pan): Come unearth Zambia's riches! The Association of Zambian Women in Mining comprises women involved in mining of gemstones including emeralds, aquamarine, citrine, tourmaline and amethyst. To add value to their rough gemstones they cut, polish, and tumble them, as well as mount the stones onto gold and silver jewellery. Part of the sales go towards helping vulnerable women and children in the rural mining areas. You can visit an aquamarine mine just outside the Kafue National Park, as well as the gemstone shop in Livingstone.

Lodge accommodation

During your tour through Zambia you will stay in lodges – small scale comfortable accommodation at great locations – these are the 'hotels' of Africa. Amazing Zambia owns two of these lodges:

  • Puku Pan Safari Lodge (Kafue National Park) lies deep in Zambia, on the banks of the Kafue River. It is a rustic yet comfortable safari lodge designed to blend in with its extraordinary natural surroundings.
  • Livingstone Guest Farm (Victoria Falls) is a private and peaceful retreat in an unspoiled rural setting on the Maramba River, close to the Victoria Falls.
