The University is named after Saint Eugene De Mazenod, who is the Founder of Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI), to which the Very.Rev.Fr.J.E.ArulRaj, Founder of DMI congregation belongs. Currently the university operates from a spacious and well equipped campus 16 km from city center along Great Northern Road.
The teaching staff roles doubles the role as student advisor also. Under this concept for every 15-20 students are assigned an advisor, who monitors the performance of the student and counsels when in need. This concept is actively practiced, documented and monitored.
Community service
DMI St. Eugene University has a structure for students to engage in service to the community – through healthcare camps, blood donation, advocacy campaigns or working with schools for the underprivileged. Students are encouraged to take up community service through join any of the community service projects, to give back to the community.
DMI St. Eugene University has modern infrastructure and facilities for its students. Separate hostel buildings are available for boys and girls in the campus with 24 hours security. The rooms are spacious and well-furnished. Hostels are designed to provide a refreshing, secure and homely atmosphere.
