Lake Harvest feed their fish a balanced, almost wholly vegetarian, diet that is made on site under strict supervision. The feed is non-GMO cereal based to help produce healthy fish. A small proportion of fish meal is sourced from a sustainable fishery, but it is their intent to completely phase out the fish meal. This is currently being researched.
Lake Harvest uses natural breeding methods, the company operates a farming process that both enables the fish to live a natural life and brings quality product to the consumer. They use chemicals or pharmaceuticals only during the growing phase to either promote growth or control disease.
