Children cover the Zambia Primary Course (ZPC) in its entirety but the curriculum is greatly expanded along British lines. For example, the main reading schemes are the well known and widely used Oxford Reading Tree, Ginn 360 and Wide Range. For Mathematics, Ginn and Nelson Material is used to augment the ZPC Scheme.

The main subjects are taught by class teachers with classes divided into ability groups. Individual progress is carefully monitored and reading age tests and proficiency tests in Maths and English are regularly administered at appropriate grade levels. Formal examinations for upper primary children take place each year in July and November. At present all grade seven children sit the Zambian Grade seven selection examination for entry into Grade eight. Nkhwazi's Grade seven results are amongst the very best in Lusaka.
