At Royal Zambezi Lodge we welcome children eight years and older (Kids under eight years on request) and will tailor your holiday to ensure both you and your kids have a great time.
Safaris are planned very carefully to coincide with the times when you are most likely to see wildlife. This means early, late afternoon, or even night game drives are essential for better chances of seeing animals at their most active. You will have a completely different perspective of the bush and an unforgettable experience.
Enjoy our game viewing trips by vehicle and have a good time to chat to your guide and ask all the questions about the bush that have accumulated on the drive. It’s also an excellent time to let creatures come to you, which can often happen if you remain relatively quiet, close to the vehicle and non-threatening.
Mixing with nature permits a close study of the various plants, animals, spoor, lairs, burrows, nests and other ground level features. Your guide will be accompanied by an armed scout and the perceived dangers will soon be forgotten as you blend into the wilderness and become part of it.

Spa

The Royal Zambezi award-winning luxury bush spa, situated close to the Lower Zambezi National Park, is built on top of a high anthill overlooking the mighty Zambezi River. Treatments take place on the deck, or inside the minimalist (but air-conditioned) treatment room. The Royal Zambezi is the only safari lodge on the river with a spa.
Uses Dermalogica as its chosen product brand
Frequently uses local indigenous ingredients from the African bush
An attentive team of qualified therapists on hand

Inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds the lodge, the spa's minimalist design exudes an air of balance, peace, and tranquility. This is a refuge to restore the mind, body and spirit and the perfect way to while away lazy afternoons.

The spa has won two World Luxury Spa Awards - 2015 WLSA, country runner up, luxury safari spa and 2013 WLSA, global winner, luxury safari spa. It has also won the Safari Awards 2016 country winner, the best safari spa/retreat.

The bush spa uses Dermalogica as its chosen product brand. In fact, this lodge is the flagship for this product range in Zambia. Dermalogica 'redefines' your skin and is an internationally trusted product brand. Dermalogica has never taken part in animal testing and is free of common irritants and ingredients that could cause breakouts (including lanolin, SD alcohol, mineral oil, artificial colors, and fragrances).

Now in its twenty-fifth year, Dermalogica has become the number one choice of skin care professionals worldwide, sold in over 80 countries and prescribed more often than any other product available.

Additionally, many treatments use local indigenous ingredients from the African bush. An attentive team of qualified therapists are on hand to offer a wide variety of massages, facials and other therapeutic and beauty treatments.

The spa offers two treatment rooms, a cooling plunge pool with river views, outdoor jacuzzi and a beautiful lounge area where you can relax sipping fresh juices.

Treatments include:

  • Massages
