Walking safaris

This is a unique way to experience the bush and view wildlife. Shenton has professional guides and an armed ZAWA officer. This makes the safari very safe and you get the most out of the experience.

Game drives

The drives are taken in modified, open 4WD vehicles. The vehicles are comfortable with high seats to allow easy viewing of game and photography. The qualified and experienced team of guides will take you to areas which are not commonly visited by other vehicles. The areas a wide variety of game. The game drives can be taken in the morning or evening and last approximately three and a half hours.

Camp-outs in the bush

Shenton safaris also offers special over-night camp-outs which is sleeping under a mosquito net, close to a camp fire. This is a thrilling experience as you will be able to listen to distant calls of wildlife such as lions, hyenas, leopards and many more.

Elephant hide sleep out

The photographic elephant hide is located high up in the branches of a tree on the riverbank. The bed is set up for you on the dedicated platform in the treetops and a scout is deployed discretely in an enclosed vehicle under the tree for your safety.

Shenton Safaris also offers breakfast in the bush, special sundowners and picnics. The company has a friendly and well trained team of staff that ensure you get the best out of your safari.

Numbu Platform Sleep Out

The platform is in a vast open savannah plain which offers two options:

• After dinner, the guide will take guests up the platform after dinner and will pick them up in the morning at an arranged time.
• Before sunset; the guide will take the guests to the Numbu Platform in good time for sundowners and will prepare a simple braai around the fire place. Guests are picked up in the morning at an arranged time.

This platform has a queen size bed, large mosquito net, warm duvet, washing basin, lamps and a radio. The toilet is set up below the platform.

For your safety, a well trained guide and an armed scout will provide security throughout the night in a nearby boma and will have a radio, in case of you want to live.
