This medium bodied wine shows a beautiful melange of guava, passion fruit with a hint of citrus.
Aromas of citrus with subtle underlying oak with fresh acidity that makes this a wonderfully complex wine.
Charming raspberry and prune flavours on the nose with ample fruit on the palate. A well-balanced wine with a crisp clean finish.
A wine with intense red hues, well-structured and velvety smooth with generous flavours of ripe berry and nut with a delightful hint of oak.
Pure poetry. A well-structured, harmonious blend: fresh dark berry flavours are beautifully underscored by hints of oak spice and supple tannins.
There are 49 million bubbles in each bottle of our single-vineyard Blanc de Blancs, and we put years of artisan craftsmanship and expertise into every last bead. The resulting wine is the height of sophistication, aged on the lees for 24 months with crisp citrus and biscuit aromas
Don't be fooled into thinking that it’s all about looks by the demure blush of this rosé. Like the perfect slice of salmon sashimi it’s as delicious to the palate as it is easy on the eye. Focused fruit aromas and a crisp finish.
Bright, pale gold with green reflections. Enthusiastic mousse. Incredibly fine bead giving sustained crown. Yeast, apples and pears on the nose with some underlying tropical tones. Refreshing burst of mousse releases an attractive array of flavours much like the nose suggested. Fairly tangy across the palate with good, fresh acidity.
Lovely on the eye with a fresh lively pink colour. An alluring floral nose with hints of red fruit delivering all of this and more on the palate. A most versatile wine.
Almost colourless. Delicate aromas with fresh grass cuttings, hints of lime and nettle.Lively, fruit filled flavours lifted by crisp acidity. Some developing fruit with zesty attraction. Dry, crisp, finish.
Pale with bright yellow reflections. Nose leads with ripe tropical fruit where citrus, melon and pineapple mingle. Hints of vanilla and some floral notes. Lively mouth where the tropical ripe fruit flavours give an impression of sweetness but great acidity gives fine balance. Some stone fruit flavours appear with time in the glass and add complexity. Lively, fruit filled finish.
This wine is 100% Cabernet Franc with all the grapes coming from the Estate. On the nose you have black olives, fynbos and tobacco. On the palate you have a more grippy tannin structure with dark berries, cedar-wood and a long finish.
These flavours flow through onto a luscious palate which ends with a lingering crispness.
This Sauvignon Blanc has great complexity and exudes hints of lime, goose berries and mineral flavours on the nose. It has a lovely texture and persistence. Fresh acidity provides a long length on the palate. Enjoy it on its own or with a variety of fresh seafood dishes, especially grilled prawns!
Cassis, plums and perfume, with subtle notes of pencil shavings and green herbs on the nose. A refreshing acidity on the palate makes this wine intriguing. It is perfect on its own or with a meal as it has integrated tannins and a lingering length. There are a variety of dishes that this wine could be paired with but I would recommend serving it slightly chilled with a charcuterie platter.
A vibrant bouquet with fresh green apple, stone fruit and floral notes dominating the nose. A light and lively wine with fresh acidity. It is the perfect accompaniment for a cheese platter with fruits and nuts.
A wine that portrays typical varietal character along with a lot of elegance and accessibility. On the nose you can enjoy subtle red berries, a hint of chocolate and green spices. The palate has a lifted freshness and soft tannins which are well integrated- the fruit also carries through well to the aftertaste. It’s great enjoyed on its own, but also pairs well with a variety of dishes ranging from a simple tomato-based pasta dish to a juicy sirloin steak.
Windswept Sauvignon Blanc is not concocted from over-cropped grapes, nor pumped up on clever winemaking additives. This authentic wine comes from cool, windswept, coastal vineyards. These gems give up meagre yields of small berries, imbued with their own natural acidity and intensity.
Slow Chenin Blanc is not fermented with fast-acting, or aroma-‘enhancing’ commercially selected yeast. The grapes do not take three weeks to get from vineyard to bottle. It is crafted the wild way – old vine fruit, fermented with wild yeast found naturally on the grapes…not in a packet. This magical transformation takes at least six months. At False Bay Vineyards we make slow wine.
Old School Syrah is not a jam soup, with toasted oak chips added for mocha flavour. The wine is fermented ‘old-school’ with wild yeast (partially whole-bunch) and raised in large wooden casks (or ‘foudre’ en Francais). An homage to the savoury, wild yet elegant renditions from Paul Boutinot’s ancestral lands.
Crystalline Chardonnay has none of those muddying, sickly additions that compel so many to declare – “We don’t like Chardonnay!” No toasted barrels, no oak chips, no oak-flavoured powder. This crystalline wine reflects a noble white grape in its purest form.
Whole Bunch Cinsault Mourvèdre is not cobbled together from off-cuts of leftover red and white wine. Nor is it over-cropped red grapes pressed aggressively to maximize juice yield and confected aromas. The wine comes from low-yielding, coastal vineyards, delicately whole-bunch basket pressed for only the purest juice. A fine wine that happens to be pink.
Bush Vine Pinotage is not from irrigated, over-cropped vines shackled to wires in horrifically hot and stressed out vineyards. The wine is from coastal, dry-farmed bush vines which have had time to adapt and find their happy place. The resulting wine therefore, is perhaps more ‘Pino’ than ‘Tage’.
Sauvignon blanc is a varietal that shows terroir very well. In this wine, the Schapenberg comes through with hints of lime combined with notes of gooseberries. The palate shows great balance and has a long and elegant finish. Enjoy it with a variety of dishes, especially seafood such as salmon ceviche or a crab salad – just keep it simple!
