Green Dream Zambia is a faith-based non-governmental organisation born out of a Christian Ministry. It was formed in 2013 as a social outreach and incorporated in 2018 as an NGO. Green Dream came as a response to the great commission with a specific mandate to reach all of Zambia with the message of Christ through the use of ICTs and community service interventions. Our vision is to see a Zambia where God's love is manifested in people's lives through fulfilled and empowered lives. Our our mission is to promote a holistic development of the individual through caring for the environment, empowering the vulnerable and promoting good health. We work in the thematic areas: of Environmental Awareness, Community Service and Health Communications. Green Dream seeks to fill the following positions:

Job Purpose

  • The TV Host is the public face of our TV programmes on television, radio and via the internet.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Research topics and background information for items to be featured on the TV programmes
  • plan and rehearse shows
  • write and sometimes memorise scripts
  • liaise with other members of the production and technical teams
  • introduce and host programmes
  • interview guests in the studio, by telephone or on location
  • read short news, traffic, sport or weather reports
  • provide links between programmes
  • read from a script or autocue, or improvise
  • 'drive' the desk and operate some of the technical equipment for recording and playback, using computers to cue up and play music and jingles - in radio work
  • keep the programmes running to schedule, responding positively and quickly to problems or changes and improvising where necessary
  • keep in contact with the director and production team in the studio
  • any other hosting assignments as may be allocated by director from time to time

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 9 Certificate
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to generate original ideas
  • A personable and confident manner
  • Good research and interviewing skills
  • An awareness of media law
  • Ability to take initiative and make quick decisions under pressure
  • Team-working skills
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills

Working Hours:

  • Flexible, usually after hours and over the weekends.
  • Candidates may be subjected to an audition.
