Barefeet receives visitors from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland

Last week, Barefeet had visitors from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland. Tiina Kajakoski and Riina Hellgren visited Lusaka and Livingstone to learn more about Barefeet, the Barefeet Children's Councils and the project funded by Taksvärkki ry.

They met with the District Education Board Secretary in Livingstone, Mrs Choola, to know more about the work and the impact of the Barefeet Children's council Livingstone. They also had some fun together with the BCC members from Livingstone, Taonga and Mwenya.

Barefeet Theatre produces a range of creative art performances using theatre, art, dance, music and creative writing to educate and support the development of children at risk of becoming disengaged from their communities into physically healthy, cognitively, and socially competent young people. Members of the group are former street children who now work in various roles within the group. Its award-winning performance company is the income-generating wing of the organisation.
