Year 12 students graduate from Chikumbuso's gap year program

Chikumbuso Women and Orphans Project would like to say a big congratulations to their amazing Gap Year Program Graduates. The Chikumbuso Gap Year Program is for Grade 12 graduates, most of whom are orphans, all of whom are from vulnerable poverty in Ng’ombe.

The mission of the Chikumbuso Gap Year Program is to prepare recent Grade 12 graduates for the next chapters of their lives. Chikumbuso covers the topics of goal setting, healthcare & prevention, financial planning, entrepreneurship, career & college counselling, as well as computer training, CV writing and job searching.

Chikumbuso is a grassroots project in Ng'ombe township in Lusaka. Founded by Linda Wilkinson in 2005, Chikumbuso provides an alternative lifestyle to vulnerable women and children. Free schooling is available, as well as adult training and capacity building, income generation activities and community building programs. 30 young adults have left the streets to come to Chikumbuso to learn new life skills in tailoring and cooking. The word Chikumbuso means remembrance.
