At Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, different groups of people gather to share one purpose which is to help families and friends of alcoholics solve their problem. Every meeting that takes place is strictly anonymous and free, the members do not have to worry about outsiders finding out what is going on in the meetings.

Alcoholics Anonymous is an international mutual aid fellowship founded in 1935. In Zambia, this fellowship of men and women gather and share their experience, strength and hope with each other in order to solve their common problem and recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. The primary purpose for Alcoholics Anonymous is to stay sober and help other alcoholics achieve sobriety. The meetings takes place three times a week at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross.
