Southern African Python - new attraction at Kalimba!

Kalimba Reptile Park have an exciting new attraction at Kalimba! The Southern African Python. This snake measures 4.4 meter long (14.4 feet) with a girth of 50cm and weighs a whopping 51kgs.

Kalimba Reptile Park will not keep the snake in captivity for long as they believe such a rare beautiful snake deserves to be in the wild. That said they will have it at Kalimba for the next couple of months while it is still cold. However due to its size it will not be handled and you will not be able to get your photo taken with it like you would with their other smaller Pythons.

This specimen of Southern African Python is very rare and while it is very impressive it is not record breaking. The Python is the largest snake in Africa, it averages 3 to 4 meters and may reach up to 5.5m.
