Congratulations to the Class of 2019 on the results achieved in the Cambridge Examinations that they wrote at the end of last year.
The A-Level group has matured into one of the largest cohorts in Zambia with 41 candidates, up from 21 last year. With this in mind, the results are particularly pleasing, with 76% of our candidates achieving C grades and above and a 98% subject pass rate. Most remarkable however is that the distinction rate has more than doubled to 35%, up from 16% last year and 30% the year before. It is noteworthy that, in 8 of the 13 subjects, the C+ achievement rate was over 80%.
The Maths and Sciences fared particularly well with C+ rates of 93% for Chemistry (15 candidates), 84% for Physics (19) and 81% for Maths (27). The subjects that achieved a 100% C+ achievement rate were Computer Science (4), Design & Technology (2) Music (1), Travel & Tourism (5) and Spanish (1).
The top achievers for 2019 were Dorica Miti and Mhlangu Nzunda, both of whom achieved 3 x A* grades. Of the 41 pupils, 18 made it onto the Academic Roll of Honour, with each candidate achieving a minimum of 1 A grade and 2 B grades.
