The Best of Zambia website is an online directory for Zambia. It advertises a range of services in Zambia to a growing international and local audience through information that is design-led, comprehensive, accurate and up-to-date. The Best of Zambia's ethos is that through online communication we can share knowledge in a dynamic cost-effective way so that users of the site can choose with ease the products and services for which they're looking for.

The Best of Zambia currently showcases a large selection of businesses in Zambia to tourists as well as Zambian residents looking for travel and leisure services. The newly launched lifestyle essentials section showcases a growing number of businesses who offer Zambian residents products and services relevant to their needs. To complete the spectrum, the industry and corporate section will launch soon to deliver business to business information, and the organisations and development section will support the not-for-profit and international development sector.

Services

Listing advertising

There are three levels of subscription available within the Best of Zambia listing advertising - Silver, Gold and Platinum.

Silver Listing
Your company name and key contact information appear in the best of Zambia directory.

Gold Listing + Webpage + Promotion
Customers can click through from your listing to your webpage. On your webpage they can read about your service, look at pictures and send you a direct enquiry. Gold also entitles you to a free year round promotion through our e-marketing, blog and twitter endorsements.

Platinum* Listing + Webpage + Promotion + Top 10 feature
Platinum advertising includes Silver and Gold features and your business will appear at the top of each directory list. Note that there are qualifying criteria for these top 10 spots. This is similar to Google's sponsored links that always appear at the top of a search page (see example).

Banner advertising

Our banner adverts feature at the top or right hand side of our website. Designed by us these ads attract additional traffic to your Best of Zambia webpage (which features your details and photographs) and further distinguish you from your competition, linking your webpage to another area of the website. For example, as a hotel you may have a banner advertisement on the generic hotels listing page, taking your potential customers directly to your webpage. The Best of Zambia banner adverts work the same way as traditional printed advertisements - they notify consumers of the product or service you offer and give reasons why the consumer should choose the product or service you offer. Our hourly rate is $75 per hour. Prices are dependent on individual needs. An initial meeting with key decision makers will establish specific requirements, leading to a proposal and an estimate of works.

The team

This site is developed and maintained by Papayi Graphic and Web Designing Ltd which is incorporated in Zambia. The team operates from Lusaka, Zambia and Cambridgeshire in the UK. sarabrown ltd, a design company operating in the UK supports Papayi. We are a family business, passionate about Zambia and excited by the possibilities the internet is giving Zambia to compete globally. More on the Papayi story, which started with the birth of Albert Papayi Brown on the Victoria Falls Bridge in 1917, is coming soon.

  C. E. O — Born in Zambia Joseph has a background in IT and farming, and extensive knowledge about Zambia, its history, culture and development. Joseph is the innovator, senior leader and the reason the Best of Zambia began.

• Julia Brown

  

  Directory Co-ordinator — Born in the UK, Julia lived in Zambia for over twenty years and now travels between UK and Zambia! A mathematics  master's graduate, with a background in IT and international development Julia's broad experience is exceptionally valuable to the company.

• Jessica Brown-Holness

  

  Client Relations Director — Born in Zambia, Jessica explored her design and fashion interests at Chelsea College of Art & Design and LCF. She was 7 years with the fullcircle brands, as menswear senior technologist. With this corporate background, Jessica is indispensable  to the Papayi management team. She feels blessed to be part of a core team that creates and enables growth!

• Lily Brown

  

  Client Relations Director — Born in Zambia, and a communications graduate from Hiram College USA, Lily is currently pursuing a law degree at the University of Zambia. Lily contributes significantly to the strategic development and running of Papayi with her valuable communications and proficient, straightforward approach to business management.

• Sara Brown

  

  Graphic Designer and PR — A graphic design graduate, Sara runs (sb) and contributes extensively to the design, promotion and strategy development of the Best of Zambia. Born in Zambia, currently in the UK, Sara is a keen traveller and writer, passionate about entrepreneurship, Africa and effective communication.

• Kudata Nvula-Simbotwe

  

  Systems Administrator — Kudata was the first member of staff to join the Best of Zambia office in Lusaka. Kudata helps keep the systems and book keeping organised whilst keeping everyone on their toes!

• Gilbert Nsamba

  

  Sales Executive — Gilbert previously promoted and monitored loan products for CETZAM Financial Services. Gilbert sells the Best of Zambia concept, and is responsible for the sales cycle and gathering the data needed to promote our clients.

• Meekness Chiluba

  

  Sales Executive — Meekness is an ex-administrator with sales and marketing experience. Meekness  sells the Best of Zambia concept, and is responsible for the sales cycle and gathering the data needed to promote our clients.

• Luke Brown

  

  Graphic and web designer — Born in Zambia, Luke graduated in design for interactive media from the University of Portsmouth and now works for (sb) in the UK. He is the creative mind behind the innovation, design and cutting edge methodology of the current Best of Zambia website.
